About our Founder and CEO

Aglyn Kamara is a passionate and accomplished advocate for youth empowerment and social change. Her dedication to serving and uplifting young people stems from her formative years and has informed her academic pursuits and professional career.

With a degree in political science and also a degree in law, Aglyn has a solid foundation in understanding governance and legal systems. Additionally, she holds a diploma in African studies, which has deepened her knowledge of the cultural, historical, and socio-political dynamics of the continent.

Aglyn’s professional experience includes working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and international cooperation, where she was able to apply her expertise in political science and law to international relations. This experience equipped her with valuable insights into diplomacy, global affairs, and the intersection of national and international policy-making.

Moreover, her commitment to youth advocacy has taken her to various international youth conferences in countries such as Ghana, Nigeria, Liberia, and beyond. These experiences have broadened her perspective, exposed her to diverse cultural contexts, and enabled her to network with fellow change-makers and thought leaders in the field.

Driven by her deep-seated passion for empowering young people, Aglyn Kamara has poured her energy and expertise into founding The Safe Place International Youth Advocacy Network. Through this organization, she has been able to create a platform for addressing pressing issues affecting youth, including education, mental health, drug abuse, self empowerment, human trafficking, social justice, and community development. Her tireless efforts have made her a prominent figure in the youth advocacy space, and her work continues to inspire and uplift countless individuals.

James Sanu, Attended the Prince of Wales School 2011-2018, whilst at the Prince of Wales School he served as a School Prefect and Chief Justice of the L and DS.
He studied law at the Fourah Bay College University, served as Chairman and President of the Old Prince Waleans Association FBC, served as Minister of Justice Students’ Union Government FBC.
Currently serving as the Deputy Executive Director safe place international youth Advocacy
 Network.

Miss Mary Baindu Eunice Koroma was born on the 16th of December. She had a distinction certificate in African studies and also graduated with a Honors degree in Political science in 2019. She furthered her 2nd degree with Honors in Law in the university of Fourah Bay College. She is the executive director for the Arise and shine children’s Organization. She is currently one of the Board of Directors of the Safe place organization Sierra Leone.

Matilda Beatrice Jones is a graduate from Fourah Bay College, with a Bachelors Degree in Mass Communications majoring in Public Relations and Advertising. She also holds a Profession certificate in Human Resource Operations from World Academy for Research and Development. She has worked in various institutions as HR and Administrative Officer, as well as a Public relations expert. Matilda is creative and innovative. She is also a passionate Entrepreneur and the CEO of Fruity Crafts, Ido Events and Grill Masters. Matilda is a minority rights advocate with kin interest in advocating for the rights of Persons Living with Albinism. She started a small advocacy group, The Matilda Jones Foundation For Persons Living With Albinism in 2020. She is a mentor to many youths both nationally and internationally.

Faduma Samuel Cole
Faduma Samuel Cole, has over the years, been working tirelessly to see to it that his fellow youths are liberated from the many harmful issues that our world faces today, one of which is drug abuse. He has also been working to ensure that our youths are empowered so that they would be self-reliant thereby helping them to be independent and to some extent, relieve their benefactors from certain responsibilities. He, surely, has the thirst and firm passion to help create change especially among the youths of this country, so he makes very good use of opportunities to help people. Also, Mr. Cole always avails himself to mentor the young and offer advice to people.
Faduma did his primary and secondary education at Waterloo, the Headquarter Town for the Western Area Rural District of Sierra Leone. He has so much love and passion for education so he inspires others in that direction. He holds a degree in Bachelor of Laws with honors (LLB Hons) at the Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.

Abigail Fatmata Gibril, Attended the SOS Hermann Gmeiner International School 2016-2019. A Third 3rd year Student reading a Bachelor’s Degree Course in Political Science at the Fourah Bay College University, of Sierra Leone. A research Worker Working with Meraki Analytics SL Let.
Currently serving as the Finance Secretary Officer Safe Place International youth Advocacy Network.

Francis Koroma is a visionary man with a passion for leadership and a commitment to social impact. Francis’ journey began in a small town called Seria, where his curiosity about leadership sparked at an early age.

With a relentless pursuit of knowledge, he excelled academically, earning a degree in Gender and Dev. Studies at Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone.
Francis holds a Diploma in Theology Proper and a Certificate in Leadership from Calvary West Africa Bible Institute (CWABI) in Ghana. He is also pursuing a Philosophy of Politics and Constitutional History of America, at Hillside Online College.

Francis has obtained several certificates over the years including Governance, Gender, Leadership, and Human Rights, at the Mandela Fellowship Online Course.

Francis’ career took flight as he joined the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Brooks Logistics and Technical Institute, where he brought innovative ideas that quickly made him stand out.

Currently, Francis is serving as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) at Safe Place International Youth Advocacy Network.
Under his leadership, the organization has flourished, earning accolades for its impactful projects and commitment to development and professionalism in the world of advocacy and development.

Mohamed Ishmael Fofanah’s journey epitomizes the extraordinary impact of passion, dedication, and innovation. Hailing from Freetown, Sierra Leone, Mohamed’s trajectory toward leadership and innovation began early, marked by his distinction as the most obedient student and later as a senior prefect at Becklyn Nursery and Preparatory School.

His academic journey unfolded with consistent excellence, particularly in agricultural studies, setting the stage for his subsequent leadership roles. Co-founding the Physics Society at Fourah Bay College and assuming the mantle of Student Union President at AI Professional College.

He holds a Bsc in Physics with Engineering Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone. Bsc in Computer Science at AI Professional College, Specialized in networking and Cyber security at SKY Vision College. He holds several certificates of leadership, entrepreneurship ,Technology and Innovation.

Underscored Mohamed’s commitment to academic and entrepreneurial endeavors.

As a co-founder and CEO of RIS Investment Firm, Mohamed’s entrepreneurial acumen thrived, fostering agricultural projects and youth employment opportunities. Concurrently, his artistic pursuits and philanthropic initiatives exemplify his multifaceted approach to making a difference.

Beyond academia and business, Mohamed’s quest for knowledge led him to explore cutting-edge fields such as drone technology and data science, earning him certifications in these domains. His contributions extend to mentorship programs, hackathons, and community empowerment projects, reflecting a holistic commitment to societal progress.

Mohamed’s accolades abound, including distinctions in academic examinations, leadership awards, and nominations for entrepreneur of the year. Notably, he serves as a physics lecturer at AI Professional College, Director and Shareholder at Red Wall IT INFOTECH Consulting Limited (UK Office and Africa Branch), and Chief Technology Officer at TAQGROUP Construction. His involvement as a mentor and facilitator on 3D Printing Technology for UNICEF SL and DSTI’s Digital Public Goods project further underscores his dedication to innovation and social impact.

Recognized as a finalist for the Commonwealth Global Innovation Award in 2023, Mohamed’s influence extends globally. His journey, encompassing roles such as Network Engineer Trainee at AFCOM SL, resonates as a testament to the transformative potential of individuals who embody resilience, innovation, and unwavering commitment. And he serves as the Project Manage at Safe Place International Youth Advocacy Network.

Sundu is a Sierra Leonean and has been in Sierra Leone since birth. All her life, she has been very passionate to impact society and has been doing this in ways she could. She is good at organising and she operates in that area really well. She always finds ways to reconcile her skills in organisation to that of positively creating change in society. Sundu constantly searches for avenues through which she can continue helping others. She does not only aim to succeed; she also aims that other people whom she has the opportunity to help, succeed.
She is a single lady and a Christian. Sundu went to school at Wilberforce, Freetown and she is currently a student at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone.

She is currently serving as the Organization Coordinator at Safe Place International Youth Advocacy Network.

Mabinty Karbgo
Ms. Kargbo, a very quiet and decorous young lady, was born and bred in Sierra Leone. She did her primary and secondary schooling in Freetown and she is currently pursuing a Diploma in Procurement and Supply at the Institute of Public Administration and Management (IPAM), University of Sierra Leone.
Mabinty has that ingrained appetite to fight whatever stands in the way of people, preventing them from succeeding in life. She has been engaging in the fight for mental health and fighting against drug abuse around Sierra Leone. She takes advantage of every opportunity that presents itself, so long it appertains making humanity better and making the world a better place.

She is currently serving as the Deputy Organization Coordinator at Safe Place International Youth Advocacy Network.
